Is the dream dead?
Hell no.
Hello,
Due to various annoyances with tumblr and how it manages multiple blogs, I am moving this blog to http://california-dream.tumblr.com.
So if I follow you already, expect another follow from that account.
And if you follow this blog, you’ll want to update to follow the new blog. Sorry for any inconvenience caused!
I’ll keep this blog online for archival reasons, but it wont be getting updated any more.
K.
Back to the gym.
Obliterated the recent malaise. Feeling great.
Title sums it up really.
Skipped the gym. Went off plan in terms of nutrition.
Really struggling with things at the moment.
Added cheese to the omlette in a bid to liven things up. Didnt have as much effect as I hoped. Meh.

So the last week or so I have been feeling pretty apathetic about the whole weight loss thing. You can see that reflected most dramatically in my diet over the weekend. Yes, I started eating cake again.
Today I didnt even feel like going to the gym, but I figured I would enjoy it once I got there, so forced myself to go. And I did enjoy it, although I found the session tougher than normal, and found it harder to motivate myself to work really hard.
This is fine. Having been on this journey before, I know motivation will wane at times. The trick is to keep going, despite how you might be feeling and eventually the motivation will return. And yes, that’s definitely something thats easy for your rational mind to tell yourself, than for your emotional side to actually believe.
So in a moment of utterly perfect timing, one of the guys at the gym I sometimes train with told me I was making real and noticeable progress with losing weight. And he encouraged me to keep it up and stick with it. This really gave me a boost at a time when I kind of need it.
So a big thanks to Ian (which of course I told him in person). I’ve blogged about this because I really think those words of encouragement are going to be a big help. And I suggest that anyone who is trying to lose weight try and find people who can step in and give that kind of encouragement too.
